More than 100 companies participated in the seminar: "Are you ready for business with China?". The training was organized by the Bulgarian Association of Exporters (ABE), together with the European Centre for Small and Medium Enterprises in the city of Beijing and was geared towards small and medium-sized companies interested to enter the Chinese market and develop business and trade relations with Chinese companies. The forum brought together manufacturers and retailers of food and beverages (wine), cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, chemical industry and tourism.
The event was opened by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Energy Krasin Dimitrov.
The seminar is part of the Association of Bulgarian exporters to promote Bulgarian companies to take the first steps towards new promising markets and to expand its market presence. Training provides systematic information about the business environment in China, the peculiarities of trade in the Asian country, legislation, standards and compliance requirements for exports to China, intellectual property and more.
"We believe that this study will provide a basis for expanding trade relations between companies from the EU and China and will facilitate the access of Bulgarian SMEs to the Chinese market ," said the Executive Director of the Association of Bulgarian exporters Milena Tzenova. "This is a country that despite the crisis marks a strong GDP growth - 10% in five years - and has become the second largest economy in the world. China is now a member of the WTO, and this opens up new business opportunities for the business from Europe, "said Milena Tzenova.
