Bulgaria to become an attractive golf destination for Chinese golfers

After the Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Mr. Delian Dobrev visited China in November 2012, the doors for partnerships were wide open, between Bulgarian and Chinese business, is the categorical position of Mr. Viktor Azmanov, Chairmen of the Bulgarian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

 

Bulgaria has the opportunity to develop itself as an attractive golf destination for the Chinese fans of that sport. That becomes clear during the working visit in China of our delegation led by the Chairmen of Bulgarian – Chinese Chamber of Commerce /BCCCI/ Mr. Viktor Azmanov. Member of the delegation was Mr. Ilko Yotzev – Chairmen of “Golf Club Bulgaria” and plenipotentiary of the Bulgarian Golf Association.

With the assistance of Office of Trade and Economic Affairs at the Embassy of Bulgaria in Beijing, the BCCCI’s delegation established business contacts with the Chinese Golf Association. A meeting was held with its Vice-Chairmen Mr. Yang Jie.

The Bulgarian and the Chinese Golf Associations, represented by Mr. Ilko Yotzev and Mr. Yang Jie laid the foundation of future partnership and agreed to sign Memorandum for cooperation. Under the document force the two countries will develop initiatives in cooperation in golf sphere. It is planned to be organised youth exchange sports camps, conferences and seminars, participation in exhibitions and joint tournaments.

The first 100 golfers from China are expected to come to Bulgaria with charter flight for the “Volvo open” tournament, which would be held in our country from 16th until 19th May 2013. One member from the payers of the Chinese group would had the unique chance to become part of mixed pair golfers – amateur – professional and to play with competitor from the World top 5, where are listed names such as Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.   

According to Mr. Yotzev’s words the presence of Chinese players would prolong the summer season in Bulgaria, because golf games are usually practiced in the period from April until October. 

 „This and other beneficial, for both sides, bilateral partnerships becomes possible after the Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Mr. Delian Dobrev widely opened the doors and gave a new impetus for the development of the tourism between Bulgaria and China”, said the BCCCI’s Chairmen Mr. Viktor Azmanov. In November 2012 Minister Dobrev made a working visit in People’s Republic of China, which additionally incented the bilateral commerce-industrial relations, including the ones in the sphere of the tourism, Azmanov reminded. As Chairmen of BCCCI and a man who has been working intensively with Chinese organisations from different scales, Viktor Azmanov evaluated highly the work done by Mr. Dobrev and MIET’s team, and the results from the achieved results from the visit.
