This year's Agriculture & Food Expo in Harbin (AFEH) will take place between 5th and 8th September 2013 in Harbin Exhibition & Sports Center. The event, organized by Koelnmesse and Harbin Municipal Government, will include over 1000 exhibitors and is expected to bring 50 000 visitors to Harbin Exhibition & Sports Center.
Harbin is the biggest provincial city in China, with population over 10 million. 80 per cent of the population in the North East comprises of young adults and middle-aged people, which is very important for the industry. Moreover, Harbin has influence over the consumers decisions in the three neighboring provinces with total population of over 140 million people. During the last five years, Harbin's GDP has been growing aggressively - with over 13 per cent every year.
Harbin Agriculture Expo is part of a project run by Harbin Municipal Government, which aims to make the city a center of the food and agricultural industries. The local government offers attractive subsidies for foreign participants, as well as simplified logistic and customs procedures. The organization of the local setup and worldwide grid is handled by Koelnmesse. And, last but not least - just next to Harbin is Yabuli, the biggest ski restort in China.
